Píseň Anke van Tharaw složil roku 1636 barokní básník Simon Dach. Původně ji napsal v dialektu na motivy lidové písně a podle legendy ji věnoval jako svatební dar jisté Anně Neanderové. Písnička to byla nejspíš populární, neboť roku 1912 byla v pruské Klajpedě na počest autora odhalena socha koho? Anky z Táravy!-)) Během druhé světové války se sice ztratila neznámo kde, tuto neutěšenou situaci ale naštěstí zachránil německý spolek Ännchen von Tharau Verein, který spolu se skupinou emigrantů z Litvy nechal roku 1989 vyrobit sochu novou. Wow!!!
