Translation in Practice
„The process of translation can be a lonely and often frustrating job, and even the best translators can struggle to find exactly the right words, or to get across an idea or a theme.“
The quote is from a collection of suggestions and instructions from leading literary translators and publishers edited by Gill Paul and published by Dalkey Archive Press. You can either buy it as a book or download in the PDF format free of charge. The six chapters deal with translation contracts, translators' challenges and roles, translation problems or editing problems. A very brief, but practical, readable book.
